Two years after the success of their Asia tour, it is no surprise that Linkin Park are returning to this region. Their last visit saw the boys selling out every show. In Singapore, 15,000 tickets were snapped up for their concert in Padang while in Malaysia, 27,000 rabid fans turned up at Merdeka Stadium.
To date, confirmed stops on their Linkin Park Asia Tour are Singapore and Hong Kong. Fans can catch the boys on Nov 13 at Singapore Indoor Stadium and a week later at AsiaWorld Arena, Hong Kong on Nov 20. Sadly, the sextet will not be coming to Malaysia. Next time, perhaps?
Linkin Park comprises Chester Bennington (vocals), Rob Bourdon (drums), Brad Delson (guitar), Joe Hahn (DJ), Dave “Phoenix” Farrell (bass) and Mike Shinoda (vocals). They released their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000. It earned them two Grammy Awards, Best Hard Rock Performance for their hit single Crawling and Best Rock Album. They took home their third gram in 2006 for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jay-Z on Numb/Encore.
Their third and latest record, Minutes to Midnight, released five months ago, has shipped over 1.59 million albums to date, bringing the band’s total album sales to 40million worldwide. The album has the band moving away from their nu-metal sound and experimenting with harmonious melodies combined with industrial and rap music.
